Pamela Gutman
Pam has been a catalyst for the 14 Community College automotive and heavy duty transportation programs in the San Francisco/Monterey Bay Region to align with fast-moving industry and technology changes. As the Regional Director for Advanced Transportation and Logistics, she has been working with the college transportation programs to upskill faculty, upgrade curriculum, refresh programs and increase their outreach to high schools and employers. She has successfully obtained funding to support regional projects that focus on helping these programs prepare for advanced electrical and semi-autonomous technologies.
Pam has also successfully developed partnerships with transportation manufacturers and brought them into the Community Colleges. She works with industry, professional organizations, government agencies, workforce development boards, and colleges statewide. Pam attends the Advisory Committee Meetings of the transportation programs in her region and also serves as a Board Member of Northern California MEMA (Municipal Equipment Maintenance Association) and on several Bay Area Counties’ ZEV Planning Committees. Recently, she worked with the CTTC and the California Energy Commission, coordinating the training of several of her faculty in heavy duty electrical who then trained high school fleet technicians.
Prior to becoming the ATL Regional Director and transitioning to Higher Education, Pam was an international and corporate banker with Chemical Bank and Citibank and a Management Consultant with SRI International (Stanford Research Institute). At SRI, she worked in the Transportation Sector, working with many transportation clients, e.g., BART, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Fiat, Toyota, etc. She was also a Partner in a Healthcare start-up, DaVinci Healthcare Partners and a Director of the Stanford Transportation Group.
Pam holds an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management (aka Thunderbird) and a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles.
