eElectrical System Diagnosis – #SC-eEL-1600-I - DISTANCE LEARNING

THIS IS AN ONLINE DISTANCE LEARNING WORKSHOP!

Prerequisites: Personal experience with Volt-Ohm Meter Desired

Prerequisites: DVOM Course (preferred), or thorough understanding of meters or an equivalent experience.

Course description: The blended course offering is designed to improve a technician's basic electrical skills and circuit diagnosis. Students will work with a Digital Volt-Ohm Meter (DVOM) in actual circuit conditions as well as in virtual simulated conditions. The class is a combination of online self-paced instruction and in-class face-to-face instruction. Reference Material will be provided as Resources.

Course benefits: The benefit of this course is to prepare students for advanced electrical circuits, schematic reading and circuit troubleshooting. Students will gain knowledge about series and parallel circuit construction, and voltage drop techniques and problem solving skills needed for proper diagnosis and repair of alternatively fueled vehicles.

Who should attend: Those who have taken eDVOM or as determined by Supervisor.

What you will learn: Online: Schematic symbols, Relays, Cooling System, Wiring Diagrams Overview, Variable Resistors, Temp Sensors, Circuit Types, Solenoids, Ignition Systems.

In-class: Safety, Series Circuit Activities & Virtual Simulations, Series Parallel Circuit Activities & Virtual Simulations, Knowledge Review Activities, Parallel Circuit Activities & Virtual Simulations, Relay Activities & Virtual Simulations

By the end of this course the student will be able to:

Course Times: Online Self-paced and self-directed. In-class 8am to 4pm (SUBJECT TO CHANGE – CHECK REGISTRATION).

Students are required to attend an orientation at the start of the course.

Number of Hours/Days: 8 hours online over a 2-week period and 8 hours in-class for 1-day instructor facilitated training.

Course Start Date: December 14, 2017 - 10:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. You are required to attend an orientation in person to begin the course.

Course Completion Date: January 11, 2018, beginning at 8:00 am. You are required to attend an 8-hour hands-on instruction & return issued iPad.

Number of Days: Self-paced and self-directed; 16 hours over 4 weeks to complete the course. You are required to attend in person at the stated location on both the course start date and the course conclusion date to return issued iPad.
