Ms. DeMartino was appointed RTD’s CEO in 2001 and was selected by the California Transit Association in October 2013 to serve as Chair of its Executive Committee. Prior to joining RTD, she spent over 14 years at Sacramento Regional Transit (RT), where she was a member of the light rail start-up team and also worked in rail operations, contracts administration, engineering and construction, and facilities and capital program management. Ms. DeMartino holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a Master's Degree in Transportation Management, and a certificate in Construction Management.
The California Association for Coordinated Transportation (CalACT) named Ms. DeMartino the 2009 Transportation Manager of the Year. In 2006, Metro Magazine highlighted her achievements in an article on five "Women in Transportation" who "play a major role in the transportation industry." In 2013, the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce honored her with the Business Manager of the Year Award.
Ms. DeMartino is a Fellow of the Eno Transportation Foundation, and a graduate of the Leadership APTA (American Public Transportation Association) program. She is the immediate past chair of APTA’s CEO Committee, currently serves as the Chair of the California Transit Association's Executive Committee, sits on the National Transit Institute Board, and teaches transportation-related classes for SJSU, University of the Pacific, and other academic institutions.
