Statewide Director/Sector Navigator of the Advanced Transportation and Renewable Energy Sector (ATRE) for the California Community College's Workforce and Economic Development Program (WEDP)
Mr. Davis, a native of San Diego California has provided creative coordination of services and training, forward thinking and consistent leadership to the ATRE Sector in California. He has brought together partners from public and private institutions, industry and business stakeholders, higher education administrators and faculty to collaborate with very clear goals in mind. First, using Statewide and local advisory input align resources with partnering campuses to develop what is needed by the workforce to learn new skills and stay employed. Second, coordinate the services of training to reduce California's dependency on foreign energy and help California's businesses remain competitive in the global market.
Mr. Davis continues to promote the critical use of curricula assessment, curriculum modification and current program evaluation in the adoption, use, management and maintenance of newly emerging alternative transportation and energy focused training. This includes alternative-fueled (AFV) and hybrid vehicles, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in photovoltaic, wind-generation, bio-energy, geothermal, energy efficiency and conservation training. This proven process generates energy and transportation credentials for employees that align with current and future workforce needs.
